Master of Industrial Design (MID)

The Master of Industrial Design program at Georgia Tech Shenzhen is committed to developing industrial design talent. By leveraging research, aesthetics, problem-solving methods, and advanced technology, the program practices a human-centered design philosophy. Students of industrial design understand the role of designers in society, learn to communicate their viewpoints through design skills, and use design to have a positive impact on today's and tomorrow's world.
The multidisciplinary nature of design thinking and design research, combined with students with unique academic and professional experiences create an educationally rich space of interdisciplinary minds within the MID program. The curriculum specializes in fortifying the designer’s role in humanizing connections between people and technology, with a focus on the areas of interaction design, healthcare design, service design, product design, and user-experience research.
